Lamborghini has lifted the lid on its new Huracán supercar and it’s a beast.
The rear-wheel drive Huracán STO (which stands from Super Trofeo Omologata) boasts 631bhp from its V10 engine, translating to 0-60mph in 3.1 seconds.
The supercar manages to ditch plenty of weight from the chassis, making it 43g lighter than Lambo’s Performante.
The lack of a four-wheel drive system and the fact 75% of the car’s bodypanels are made from carbon fibre also helps.
Even though it’s ostensibly a track car, the Huracán STO is road-legal if you wanted to take it down to the supermarket on a Saturday morning.
‘The concept of the project was in what way can we capitalise on all this [racing] know-how, all this experience, and create something that is missing in the portfolio of the Huracán family,’ Lamborghini’s head of R&D, Maurizio Reggiani, told Autocar.
‘It is a car that can be dedicated to track activity in a puristic way.’
That is, providing you’ve got deep pockets. Lamborghini quotes a price of £216,677 excluding taxes for the STO, which works out to about £260,000.
Bit much to put on your Christmas list, we reckon. Still, it looks fantastic.
