Twitter is getting into the Halloween spirit this year by lighting up several locations around London with funny, relatable or downright awkward tweets.

The social media company says it’s trying to provide a little light relief this Halloween as coronavirus continues to put restrictions on how we celebrate.

‘The immortalised tweets illuminating the streets and tunnels across the capital include a glow in the dark monstrously absorbent paper towel, a zombie annoyed about movie characters not using coasters and an embarrassed hipster retweeted by a ghost,’ the company told Metro.co.uk.

If you plan on heading out after dark to see them for yourself, please remember to observe social distancing guidelines.

Shoreditch, Old Street and Peckham are a few of the locations you’ll be able to spot them.

They’re also appearing in Southwark and London Bridge. Head to Clink Street to spot one of the ghoulish apparitions.

Viv Bowdler, Senior Creative Strategist at Twitter UK said: ‘Halloween has become a huge online event, and this year it’ll be bigger than ever on Twitter.’

‘We wanted to take some of the funniest and relatable – yet scary – tweets and dress them up in true Halloween style, to revel in those hilarious thoughts and feelings that give us all goosebumps.’

The impressive street art was made in partnership with creative agency Flying Object, as well as with carefully selected group of creatives and artists on each installation.
